The restaurant
A room that fills from the outside in.
Mare é Monti sits on the upper floor of Aliathon Plaza, on Poseidonos Avenue in Kato Paphos — inside the resort, open to everybody.
The room
Wood, linen, and a wall of bottles.
Inside there is warm timber, low light and a rack of forty wines running the length of one wall. Outside, a covered terrace that catches the last of the sun and holds the evening breeze off the coast.
Guests tend to book the terrace for the first sitting and the inside tables later, when the candles go on. Either way, ask when you call — we will put you where you want to be rather than where the plan says.
The kitchen
Italian, cooked to order, nothing rushed.
Risotto is started when you order it, so it takes the time it takes. Pasta is finished in the pan with its sauce. Fish is grilled whole-fillet and dressed simply, with lemon and oil.
The list is deliberately Italian rather than pan-Mediterranean: antipasti to share, a real primi section, grills and fish after it, and four desserts that people have been ordering here for years.

Occasions
Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings.
Private areas can be reserved in advance, and we will write a set menu for the table rather than hand out twelve cards.
Tell us the number of guests, the budget per head and anything the group cannot eat. We will come back with two or three options.
Plan an eveningWhere we are
Inside Aliathon Plaza, open to everyone.
Aliathon Plaza sits at the front of Aliathon Resort on Poseidonos Avenue, with its own car park and a row of restaurants, bars and shops around it.
You do not need to be staying at the resort to eat with us — most evenings the room is a mix of hotel guests, people from Paphos and Geroskipou, and couples who walked up from the coast road. Resort guests on half board or all inclusive should check their allowance at reception before booking.
